Shelby O’Brien is a solicitor with the law firm of Ramsay Lampman Rhodes or RLR as it is commonly known as. RLR is a full service law firm that has been providing execellent legal advice on Vancouver Island for over 30 years. The lawyers at RLR have expertise in all areas of law including, business law, civil litigation, construction law, criminal law, family law, mediation and arbitration, personal injury, real estate law and wills and estates.

Shelby’s practice focuses on corporate and commercial law matters, including banking and finance, the purchase and sale of businesses, the creation and organization of various business structures, and real estate transactions. Shelby also assists clients with wills and estates matters.

Prior to joining RLR in January 2007, Shelby worked as an associate for a large national law firm in Vancouver, where her work focused on banking, financing and commercial real estate matters. During that time Shelby gained a strong foundation in business law matters and is excited to have the opportunity to share her expertise with her Island clients.

Shelby possesses a B.A. (Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, Ontario) and a Bachelor of Laws degree (University of British Columbia). She was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2004.

Shelby is an active member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) and is a member of the Solicitor’s Practice Issues Committee. She belongs to the Women Lawyers’ Forum, the Banking Law, Wills and Estates and Real Estate Law subsections of the CBA.

Away from the office Shelby enjoys spending time with her two daughters Aejah and Lylah and is an active participant in her girls’ extracurricular activities.
